On Monday, September 27th Aonair will perform one of the first live shows of the year in the Button Factory, Dublin.

Tickets cost โ‚ฌ15.00 + booking fee available at Eventbrite.ie (Tickets limited to 85 and must be purchased online). This is a seated and socially distanced event.

All attendees must have proof of full vaccination or that youโ€™ve previously recovered from Covid in the past 6 months.

Aonair began life as a dreamy, keyboard-heavy bedroom recording project in 2016 with the Girls Girls Girls EP, and 2018s Surfs Up EP.
Tinged with elements of modern indie, as well as a heavy dose of 80s synth-pop and classic rock nostalgia, this epic new live show will whisk you away on a forgotten 80s dream.

Aonair is the project of songwriter/producer Brendan McGlynn. After writing and touring with bands such as Raglans, THUMPER and Colour//sound he began this solo venture.
Aonairโ€™s sound combines lush electronic production with dreamy reverbs, huge drum sounds and soaring vocal melodies to create a dreamy but powerful sound. Influences include The War On Drugs, Tears for Fears, Julie Cruise and The Blue Nile.

During the COVID pandemic, Aonair began working on a collection of songs between studios in Dublin and his grandparent's house in the picturesque seaside Donegal village of Rathmullen. The results of this are big and bold, synth-drenched upbeat indie-pop tracks with an 80's edge that he can't wait to share at this upcoming live show in the Button Factory!

When talking about the EP and new music...
โ€œI wanted this EP to sound like an old tape you might find in your parent's attic, from a forgotten 80s band.
The initial concept for the EP was to create something flashy, extravagant and glamorous - the antithesis to the post-punk movement. I want to make something deeply uncool, wear my heart on my sleeve and make people want to dance.โ€
