Elkin will perform a socially distant Button Factory show on Thursday, September 16th 2021.
Tickets cost β¬15.00 + booking fee available at Eventbrite.ie (Tickets limited to 85 and must be purchased online). This is a seated and socially distanced event.
All attendees must have proof of full vaccination or that youβve previously recovered from Covid in the past 6 months
ELKIN is an Irish alt-pop duo made up of Ellen OβMahony and Carla Ryan.
Ellen and Carla were writing and singing together from the age of 15 before taking their music to a new level as ELKIN. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Joni Mitchell the duo began writing and performing folk-pop, but it wasnβt until they began working with producer lullahush that ELKIN blended their love of thought-provoking folk lyrics with fierce alt-pop production.
ELKIN made their mark in 2019 with singles Green Eyes, Cut My Tongue and DIY, as well as releasing Fall So Easy, a collaboration with Cork producer 1000 Beasts. The self-managed duo have received growing support with ELKIN being selected to perform at showcases such as Whelanβs Ones to Watch, Music Cork and Ireland Music Week.
2020 saw OβMahony and Ryan continuing this momentum with new release Win Win alongside performances at OutPut Showcase in Belfast and Other Voices Music Trail, Ballina. With the Covid pandemic putting a halt to their other plans, the duo spent the rest of the year writing and recording a collection of singles, ANTHOLOGY, which will be released through 2021. This will be followed by an EP release funded by the FMC Recording Stimulus Grant.
The Button Factory is dedicated to ensuring compliance of all government guidelines during COVID-19 and to ensure the health & safety of all guests, artists and staff.
A COVID compliance officer will be on site at all times. All staff will wear masks, as well as a one way system in place for guests entering the venue and for access to the bathrooms.
All tables and surfaces will be wiped down and sterilised before and after each show.
Contact details for each person/group will be taken at the door, for contact tracing purposes and temperature checks will be carried out with each customer upon arrival.
