murder hole beach are a punk band.

Have you ever been to a great gig and said to your friends ‘We should start a band’? Well that’s exactly how the concept of murder hole beach was formed. After witnessing a rapturous Oh Sees concert in Dublin city centre in late 2019, three old friends from school were lamenting about having never been in a band. They went quiet and looked at one another, as the slow realisation dawned on them that all three were in fact musicians. The decision was made there and then that they would unite to make genre-bending, face melting, gut punching guitar music.

They soon got together in a bedroom for their first practice. Little did they know that one week later, the whole nation would be closed down thanks to a global pandemic. Lockdowns would not deter them. It gave the boys many long months to let their ideas gestate and crystalise. Many a conversation were had about what the band could become one day. Imagine we could play a gig? Imagine we could release a single? The concept of the band was held out like a carrot on a string, the light at the end of the tunnel.

In 2022 Ireland reopened and murder hole beach could finally be. The band have played all over Dublin in venues such as Fibber Magees and The Soundhouse as well as sold out shows in Whelans and The Thomas House. They have supported bands such as Eyesore and The Jinx and Super Extra Bonus Party. They were also able to release several singles such as ‘Scallywags’, ‘Mike Wazowski vs The State of Disney’ and ‘Genetic Trauma’. That which was only a dream has become a reality.

For anyone who is a fan of bands like Oh Sees, Protomartyr, Shellac and The Jesus Lizard. This is the band for you.

murder hole beach continue to bring their high energy, thought provoking music all over the emerald Isle. Go see them, they are not to be missed.

And don’t forget.
