About the show and Kormac’s latest release
In his work as a producer, live artist and film composer, Kormac is known for twisting his organic recordings into widescreen electronica. Kormac, for the first time, writes an orchestral suite of music, often aimed at the dance floor, featuring Irish Chamber Orchestra, rapper Jafaris and vocalists Loah and MayKay alongside acclaimed street artist, Maser.
The lead single from the album ‘Carry Weight’ which comes out on 14th October is the first offering from the album featuring Irish Sierra- Leonan singer/Songwriter Loah. ’Carry Weights’ twisted and morphed harp samples are combined with orchestra and drums to provide the basis for Loah’s stunning harmonies. It’s dancefloor music made from organic sources.
The album is a truly creative endeavour featuring a collection of Spatial Audio mixes, 3 short form animated videos in production made in Cinema 4D & Octane, Unreal Engine and Blender and artwork provided by acclaimed street artist, Maser.
‘Equivalent Exchange’ is the first full length project on Kormac’s own label imprint Always the Sound. It comes out on 11th November coinciding with a launch night with the Irish Chamber Orchestra in Dublin’s The Button Factory.
