With support from Josh Gray

"No doubt a band currently in the midst of a stratospheric ascendance, Wild Youth have exploded onto the scene with their infinitely catchy and buoyant brand of indie-pop. Homegrown, humble fun is the main preoccupation of the Irish quartet โ€“comprised of lead vocalist DavidWhelan, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ConorO'Donohoe, lead guitaristEd Porter and drummer Callum McAdam โ€“whose collective self-assured swagger has caught eyes and ears everywhere.

A penchant for โ€œsad bangersโ€, aka blood-pounding choruses, heart-stompingly gorgeous melodies, and deft lyricism, as well as the Dublin outfitโ€™s hip-shaking moves and peppy vigour, means it is music designed to fill huge arenas or to be heard crackling out over a sun-soaked festival stage. And their far-reaching influences are evident: from the kinetic funk-tinged arrangements of Prince, to the boundary-pushing angst of The Walkmen and Tame Impalaโ€™s hypnotic psych-pop โ€“a melting pot of innovative sounds run through their tracks. And undeniably, their prowess lies in their live showmanship, a commitment to spectacle, energy, and good, good times.

Wild Youth have recorded an EP to follow on from last yearโ€™s highly acclaimeddebut EP โ€œThe Last Goodbyeโ€, with an album soon to follow. โ€œI think weโ€™re more comfortable in our own skin a bit more now, and I think itโ€™s coming across just by us taking more risks on this new music,โ€ teases Conor. โ€œOur next single still sounds like a Wild Youth song, but you can hear more of our alternative influences coming through, like nods to Tame Impala, and itโ€™s like nothing anyone would have heard us do before.โ€
