Sprints

Sprints are a really fun punk guitar band. They’re a 4 piece led by an excellent frontwoman Karla Chubb.  I saw them in The Bello Bar last year and at Whelan’s Ones To Watch 2 weeks ago – both really impressive sets. They play a sold out Whelan’s the Saturday after TiLT #5 and then head to Other Voices at the end of February. Their new single ‘Kissing Practice’ is out on Feb 14th.

Turnstiles

Turnstiles are a 5 piece punk act from Galway led by London born frontman Callum Mitchell. They were my favourite act at Whelan’s Ones To Watch 2 weeks ago. They pulled off a wonderful Idles cover too. They’re managed by Richard Blowes from Blowtorch Records. During the week they were confirmed as one of the first acts to play at this summer’s Forbidden Fruit.

TV People

TV People are a 4 piece indie band that have at times an Interpol style sound and look. Saw them last year and enjoyed their set. They’ve 3 singles released so far – the latest one is called ‘Kitchen Sinking’ and was released today (Jan 31st)
