NewDad left their mark on Button Factory in February 2024, playing two massive sold-out shows to mark the release of the much-awaited debut album, Madra. We're delighted to welcome them back to Button Factory for a truly special, one-off anniversary show this December.

The irresistible appeal of songwriting is the opportunity to give voice to the ineffable. For Julie Dawson, lead singer & guitarist, music has always served as a safe haven for articulating what she struggles to express elsewhere – a place where she can explore her deepest emotions without compromise.  

NewDad’s debut album, MADRA, was released in 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios and mixed by acclaimed producer Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and Beach House), the album saw NewDad expand their sound while establishing them as a major force in contemporary Irish alternative music.

Their second album, Altar, followed in 2025, continuing the band's evolution and cementing their reputation as an ambitious, international touring band with a rapidly growing global audience.

Since then, NewDad has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, sharing stages with artists including David Byrne and Fontaines D.C and performing at Coachella, Glastonbury, Primavera, Lollapalooza and All Points East.
