Maybe you don't think you know the voice and music of UK jazz and soul singer songwriter, Sarah Jane Morris but you probably do.
Sarah Jane has a singular voice, rich and deep in both emotion and timber. It was in the 80s when she duetted with Jimmy Sommerville on the Communards No. 1 hit single 'Don't Leave Me This Way' that her unique talent was so vividly apparent.
Her deep soulful vocal, set against Jimmy's pop soprano was striking and still sounds fresh and dynamic today. Sarah Jane is a renowned soul and jazz singer with fans across the UK and Europe where she tirelessly performs to packed houses in jazz clubs and theatres.
Sarah Jane really hit a sweet spot on her 2021 tribute to the work of John Martyn on her 'Sweet Little Mystery' album project, in recent years, Sarah Jane set about completing a long-time desire to celebrate female songwriters she admires with her Sisterhood project. Original songs written with Tony Remy about the lives and experience of some iconic female artists.
Sisterhood #2 was released in March this year.
