The danish pop duo from Aarhus has launched into a meteoric rise, with millions of streams, a rapidly growing fanbase, and sold-out international shows.
It all began when a video clip of their single ‘Ain’t Just A Game’ went viral on TikTok. Suddenly, messages started pouring in from all over the world – Sydney, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Paris – and people couldn’t get enough of Line Gade and Sebastian Igens’ intimate yet euphoric pop universe. When they released ‘Cruise’, things truly took off.
The house-inspired track, featuring captivating stutter vocals, was shared so widely that ROYA appeared on more than 30 Spotify Viral Charts. ‘Cruise’ has been featured in over 50,000 TikTok and Instagram creations and has reached an astonishing 500 (!) million views. The single now has more than 44 million streams across platforms, and the duo has surpassed 2.5 million followers across their social media platforms in under a year.
This spring, ROYA completed their first European tour – a completely sold-out run of shows across Europe, and this summer, fans will get a chance to see them live as they take the stages at festivals both at home and abroad. Besides that, they just announced a new Europe Tour with over 20 cities including Barcelona, London, Berlin and other major cities in Europe.
They recently released the single ‘Dawn/Day’ and are already diving into their next project — a new song currently taking shape together with their fans, under the working title ‘BOY (ZACARIA)’. An idea that started in the studio out of a random sound, evolving with simple percussion and a catchy piano riff into a vibey anthem that speaks to the heart of what it means to be children growing up in today's world with the weight of the future on their shoulders.
