Jesse John Heffernan is an Irish singer-songwriter known for his involvement in hip hop group The Animators, and his soul album released in 2017 titled "Late Night Attention".
Originally a soul/folk-inspired artist, releasing a ten song record in 2017 with some of the countries most notable musicians, and playing with his 10 piece big band supporting acts like Lee Fields, Candi Staton, Booker T Jones, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and many more, he has now moved his attention to another much-loved genre, hip hop.
Jesse John Heffernan spent 5 years working with booking company ChoiceCuts based out of The Sugar Club, and that is where he found his inspiration for this newest collection of songs.
He now brings us a collection of songs inspired by hip-hop classics under the stage name Jesi James, a character forged over Covid, and formed in the years following.
Any fans of Anderson.Paak and Late Registration era Kanye West, will find this project right to their suiting.
