Chewie "Inarticulate" Record Release Show

  • Button Factory Curved Street Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland (map)

So here we are again.

It's been a couple of months since we released Inarticulate into the world and hopefully you've had it in regular rotation since then. We really love these songs so much and it's been incredibly heartwarming to read your messages of support and have some really encouraging chats about it with some of you irl.

We decided to hold off on playing any gigs around Dublin in the immediate time following the release, as we wanted to give you all a nice amount of time to really familiarise yourself with Inarticulate so that you can get as bouncy to the new songs as you would be to the other stuff that you've known for years. But now it's time to really bring this album to life and get busy in a room full of people who know the suss.

When it came time to figure out where to host the gig, the choice was absolutely 100% obvious. We recorded the vast majority of Inarticulate in the studios located directly above the Buttoner, so it only made sense to have the release gig downstairs in one of the nicest venues for live music in the city. We're not going to lie and act like we're not absolutely bricking ourselves though -- this room is a considerable step up as far as capacity goes, and also with each time we transition into a new era of the band, there is a certain nervousness that comes with it. Will the energy be the same? Will people go as hard to the new stuff as they have been going for years to the Marrowbone stuff? Have we just spent a fair few years working on something that's incredibly important to us, but that just doesn't hit the same? I suppose we're going to find out on December 9th.

We plan on putting on a seriously memorable show for everyone in the room, so that it's as special to everyone in the crowd as it is to us. We're pulling out all the stops for this - we've hired our own dedicated sound tech for the night, someone who's worked the desk at many of our shows over the years and who fully gets our buzz. We're also for the first time hiring our own dedicated lighting engineer, who'll know the set ahead of time and have all the cues locked in to their brain so that the gig not only sounds whopper, but looks incredible too. We'll have a limited amount of record-release exclusive LPs with hand-numbered alternate sleeves for the die hard collectors, and of course we'll have a fair share of new and exclusive merch designs for anyone who's looking to be dripped out for Christmas dinner with the fam.

I really can't stress this enough when I say that this is the one show that you absolutely should not miss if you're a fan of our band. I also genuinely have no idea how fast this will sell, or if I'm going to need to be going demon mode with the promotion, but please know that buying tickets well in advance of the gig itself is not only a massive help to us, but it also means that you'll have loads of time to put cash away towards what you're going to want to drop at the merch table or the bar. It also gives you that beautiful feeling of peace of mind in the event of a sell-out that you're already sorted.

We're really really looking forward to this one, and would love for you to join us for it.
